Andy Jones is associate professor of art in painting and drawing. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and received his MFA in painting and pnntmaking from Louisiana Tech University. Professor Jones has exhibited throughout the United States. He is the winner of the 1998 U.S. Mint Quarter Design Competition for Connecticut. His work can be found in many collections, including those at the United States Mint Archives, Connecticut State Capitol, Connecticut State University System, Eastern Connecticut State University, Oklahoma Memorial Archives, University of Maine, Presque Isle, Southwest Texas State University, and St. Andrews College, as well as private collections in the United States, England, and France.

My paintings are based on my response to the landscape. The imagery has been about my surroundings in rural northeastern Connecticut. I am attracted to working farms. I feel a sort of kinship with the people who farm and their daily rituals. Also, I appreciate the architecture, equipment, fields, and animals. This narrative inclination goes back to my youth in North Carolina.
