In Asia they make shrines of such places. We Americans make them national parks. Seeing that special potential in every day evirons and finding their spirit by moving paint around on a canvas is what “plein air impressionist” painters strive for.

The best way to really know something -- anything -- is to draw it. Drawing is seeing. When you draw or paint something you get to know it intimately. There is great joy in standing out under the sky trying to capture the feeling of standing out under the sky -- you never can, but you can have a great time trying.
