Mohegan Park, Norwich CT
CPAPS Paint Out at Mohegan Park, Norwich CT August 12, beginning at 8:30 AM:
This park offers a variety of painting possibilities including
- A swimming area teaming with children in the water and on the beach,
- a large fountain next to arched trellises supporting climbing roses,
- and a small inlet leading to a red footbridge (my favorite spot).
The website lists the address as Mohegan Park Road, Norwich. (Main parking by the swimming area).
Also, John Edwards Drive/Wilderness Rd, Norwich CT
https://goo.gl/maps/p5KULGwerZn (brings you to the lot closest to the red bridge)
The link above will take you to the parking lot closest to that bridge, and the included map indicates a drop off point right next to the inlet.
There is also a parking area following signs to the rose garden, with bathroom facilities in a park building.
I hope to see you there!
Also of note in Norwich; many of you are familiar with the Slater Museum’s collection of plaster cast reproductions of European sculptures including the Winged Victory. They never fails to impress and are wonderful to draw. The museum’s website indicates the gallery is open on Sundays from 1:00 till 4:00 PM.
