Artist Bio

Linda Marino was born in New Canaan, CT and currently lives in Branford, CT. Her work is inspired by the world around her. Whether it's the local landscape or the flowers that she just picked up from the farm stand, Linda desire is to capture a moment in time and translate it to a visual story. Linda’s professional career began in marketing and advertising after receiving her Bachelor in Business Administration at Western New England University. For the past 30 years Linda continues to work on her fine art skills studying in Florence, Italy, as well as several other CT Universities and local art schools. Working in the education department at the New Britain Museum of American Art in New Britain, CT is where her love for art history and teaching art blossomed. Linda enjoys teaching art and takes great pleasure in encouraging her students of all ages to discover their unique gifts and helping them to develop their artistic skills. Her work has won a number of awards including Best Landscape and Honorable Mention in Wethersfield Academy for the Arts Juried Competition and Best in Show at the Visual Art Exhibition with the Cheshire Art League. Linda is a member artist of the Lyme Art Association. She sells and exhibits her work in various shows and art festivals in Connecticut as well as online. Linda’s passion and joy for plein air painting has lead to volunteering as Paint-out Coordinator for Madison Art Society and just recently accepted the position of President for the Connecticut Plein Air Painters Society. Painting outdoors allows me to be immersed in my surroundings, take in the fresh air, feeling the sun on my shoulders and strive to capture what's in front of me. I also enjoy the social aspect of plein air painting, painting with friends, discovering new places, meeting all different types of people and chatting about art, it's a visual connection to bring us as humans, closer together.
